The Community Basket

About Us

We are a community shop located in Anfield, within Stanley Park at the former allotment site (Muster Site). Our mission is to tackle long-term poverty in the L4 and L5 areas by providing access to affordable food and household essentials. We aim to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and diet-related diseases, which perpetuate cycles of poverty and disadvantage. Currently, we redistribute approximately 5 tons of food annually to around 30 households. Our services are open to all—no need to ‘prove’ eligibility for support.

Our goal is to double our food redistribution to 10 tons per year and extend our support to at least 50 households.

You can find us in Stanley Park, just off Anfield Road (as shown on Google Maps). We are open three days a week.
For the latest updates on stock and opening times, please visit our Facebook page, where we regularly post information.

We offer a wide selection of groceries, beverages, and snacks, with prices starting as low as 20p, and occasionally, a free trolley. All sanitary products are provided at no cost.

One of our users left an anonymous note that read: “Thank you for running this food bank for the past few years. I have used it on occasion when in serious need. It’s a wonderful service you’re providing to the community, and I’m sure it has helped many over the years.” Another note simply said, “Thank you so much. A recovering addict.”
